An online conference for university and further education students of education, childcare and children and young people's services. The conference will discuss presentations on different aspects of children's voices in relation to Covid-19, racism, and advocacy. There will also be a presentation by Sally Holland, Wales's Children's Commissioner.

The following pack is for individuals who wish to introduce a language awareness training session for their learners. The duration of the session is one hour. The course is suitable for: Level 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 health and social care or childcare students tutors and assessors in colleges social care/work or childcare students in universities. It could also be used as part of in-service training for workers in these areas and the Social Care Wales workforce. The pack aims to equip trainers to present information about language and discuss how to work bilingually with their learners. It is intended to share information that will educate and empower learners to offer a valuable service to their service users ensuring that language is always a central consideration. The pack is presented in PowerPoint format with trainer notes to support each slide. The trainer notes present a lead script, in addition to offering a few ideas about how to present tasks and encourage learners to be proactive in the session.

These courses are for apprentices who currently have little or no Welsh language skills. They enable apprentices to complete part of their qualification in Welsh. HOW TO USE THE RESOURCES? The first five units introduces the importance of the Welsh language as a skill for the workplace while the content of units 6 is tailored to different vocational subjects. Everyone will complete Units 1-5 General and then select the version that suits them for Unit 6. Unit 6 has additional versions that have been tailored to the following five specific vocational subjects (if you do not follow one of these, you will complete Unit 6 General): Healthcare Childcare Public Services Agriculture Construction WHICH LEVEL SHOULD YOU COMPLETE? There are two levels of Prentis-iaith: Prentis-iaith Awareness Level (for apprentices that have little or no Welsh language skills) Prentis-iaith Understanding Level (for apprentices who already have some understanding of Welsh) If you are unsure which level is suitable for you, use this quiz to determine the suitable level. LEARNING PROVIDERS AND COLLEGES These courses are also available via the learning portals of the main apprenticeship providers in Wales. Other providers wishing to make the courses available through their LMS should download the units from the zipfile that can be accessed below. It is possible for learners to print certificates automatically after completeing each unit. Providers can also download versions below to manually fill in and award to students.
