This coursebook encompasses all the content of the six core units in the Foundation qualification and prepares students for the externally marked MCQ examination, together with the internally marked Health and Safety Test. The textbook supports learners studying the core units in this Level 2 qualification (Qualifications Wales). It provides a broad introduction to construction and the built environment and develops vital knowledge and understanding of the construction industry over six chapters. A key chapter includes important principles relating to workplace health and safety and the wellbeing responsibilities of all employees on site.  The subjects covered by the core units provide essential foundational knowledge that forms a foundation on which to gradually study selected craft specialties to complete the course. The Science Conference aims to provide an opportunity for scientists to showcase their research in Welsh. Providing a space to discuss science in Welsh has been integral to Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol since its inception, and the conference is going from strength to strength, with a wide range of topics being discussed, from designing a new drug to microplastics!   This year for the first time it will be hosted as a hybrid conference in the Council Room, National Library of Wales, on Thursday 15 June 2023.   The conference will be hosted in Welsh and simultaneous translation service will be available. These short courses are for apprentices who are fluent in Welsh to assist them to use their Welsh in the workplace. They enable the apprentices to complete a part of their course through the medium of Welsh.   The first five units introduces the importance of the Welsh language as a skill for the workplace while the content of units 6 is tailored to different vocational subjects.  HOW TO USE THE RESOURCES? Everyone will complete Units 1-5 General and then select the version that suits them for Unit 6. Unit 6 has additional versions that have been tailored to the following five specific vocational subjects: Healthcare  Childcare Public Services Agriculture Construction If you do not follow one of the above subjects, you will complete Unit 6 General. WHICH LEVEL SHOULD YOU COMPLETE? There are four levels of Prentis-iaith: Prentis-iaith Awareness Level (for apprentices that have little or no Welsh language skills) Prentis-iaith Understanding Level (for apprentices who already have some understanding of Welsh) Prentis-iaith Confidence Level (for apprentices who wish to increase their confidence to use their Welsh) Prentis-iaith Fluency Level (for apprentices who can speak Welsh fluently) LEARNING PROVIDERS AND COLLEGES These courses are also available via the learning portals of the main apprenticeship providers in Wales. Other providers wishing to make the courses available through their LMS should download the units from the zipfile that can be accessed below. It is possible for learners to print certificates automatically after completeing each unit.
