This is an interactive digital resource containing information on jobs and opportunities in health and care in Wales. The Tregyrfa website has been developed by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW). Tregyrfa aims to share information about the wealth of job opportunities available within the National Health Service (NHS) and care sector.
Movement in and out of cells
This resource was created for Level 3 Medical Science students but the information is relevant to any student studying biology at level 3 such as Health and Care or A level. The content is also useful for lecturers and students of studies with an element of animal science. This resource looks at the movement of substances in and out of the animal's cell membrane. It also deals with the mechanism of movement of the substances, and in particular looking at active transport. There are activities within the presentation to check your learning. Tomorrow's Doctors 4 2021-2022
The Tomorrow's Doctors scheme is designed to support learners who are in the first year of their studies in our Further Education colleges, and in year 12 in our schools, who speak Welsh and want to apply to study Medicine at university. The scheme offers specialist support from Cardiff University and Swansea University staff involved in the application process. Health and salvation: medicine, the body and the moral order in colonial Bengal 1840-1935
Drawing on a rich seam of archival material on Welsh missionary activity in late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Bengal, the article addresses ways in which care of the sick became a central, if problematic, part of Christian Mission. While the building of dispensaries, clinics and hospitals provided both a platform and a social visibility to the evangelisation process, they also exposed deeper tensions around the politics of gender and the implantation of Western medical practices in a colonised society.
