A presentation by Dr Hanna Hopwood to postgraduate students to share advice on how to make the most of your time and energy when researching.   Dr Hanna Hopwood is a lecturer in the Department of Linguistics, University of Oxford. She is also a project manager and about to complete the ILM Level 7 in executive coaching and mentoring. In addition, she has followed several courses on Compassion Focused Therapy and incorporates the models from that teaching at every possible opportunity into her work every day. This presentation encourages you to consider: What kind of learner are you? What is going to help you personally in setting your research goals and objectives? What kind of atmosphere and study pattern works for you? What can help set good habits? How can you structure your time effectively? What strategies can work when setting goals and objectives? How can you make the most of your time and energy? To accompany this resource, a live online workshop titled Setting Goals and Objectives for Researchers will be held with Dr Hanna Hopwood on 20 May at 11:00 to delve deeper into the above questions, and to share good practice and further advice.

Two online workshops for students studying A Level or Level 2/3 exams in Sociology. The first Workshop is on the theme of 'Research Skills' and the second workshop on the theme of 'Inequality'. The Workshops are led by lecturers from Bangor and Cardiff universities.

These are recordings of two online sessions that were arranged for pupils who are considering studying LAW or CRIME at the University. The sessions provided a good opportunity for prospective students to get an idea of the type of career they can follow with a degree in those subjects.  In the first session there are contributors who have graduated in Law or Criminology and are now working in those fields.  The second session includes contributors who have graduated in Law or Criminology but went on to pursue a career beyond those subjects.

This collection includes a blog and a recording of a webinar on creating and using Welsh medium and bilingual resources that were created by JISC in summer 2021. The blog is bilingual and the webinar is in Welsh with bilingual slides. Guest contributors to the webinar included the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol (Dr Lowri Morgans, Joanna Evans, Mary Richards and Enfys Owen), Welsh Government (Gareth Morlais) and Sgiliaith (Helen Humphreys).

The aim of the 'Celf a Dylunio ar y Map’ is to offer a unique opportunity for Welsh-medium Art and Design students to come together in one place to share and discuss their work and to benefit from the experience of artists and others who work in the industry.  The theme of the festival was 'Reinterpreting Tradition'.  The below video gives a flavour of the festival.

During the session, there will be a discussion on various aspects of the film including the historical and industrial context, themes, the characters and the use of symbolism in the film. The importance of the film in Wales and internationally will also be discussed.  The panel includes Dr Manon Wyn Williams and Professor Gerwyn Wiliams, Bangor University, actor Huw Garmon and Noami Jones, Head of Cultural Heritage at yr Ysgwrn.
