Here is a link to a specific section on the North Wales Police website which contains resources to assist individuals who wish to develop their Welsh language skills. All roles within the NWP require a level of Welsh language skill. As part of the application process, individuals will be assessed on their spoken Welsh. The resources on the website help individuals prepare for the assessment. These resources are relevant to individuals interested in starting a career with the police. 

The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol along with CollegesWales held an online panel event, in the form of a Zoom webinar, with politicians from the three main parties in Wales to discuss the contribution of the post-16 sector to the aim of creating a bilingual workforce and communities and a million Welsh speakers by 2050. The event provided an opportunity to hear what the parties are committing to in terms of developing bilingualism in the post-16 sector in order to move the agenda forward during the next Senedd term as well as the priorities of the Coleg Cymraeg and CollegesWales. Excellent customer care is an integral part of working in many areas but particularly in the field of hospitality. Below is a video which includes 8 suggestions for introducing excellent customer service in hospitality. Additionally there is a video which introduces Cambrian Training to the apprentice and outlines the range of services available. The resources below were developed by Cambrian Training with support from the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.  The content is considered good practice and could also be relevant to other apprenticeship providers in other fields.  

This video of Helen Dobson who works as a Social Worker is part of the #WeCareWales campaign. Helen was a supply teacher in primary schools for thirty years, but one day she decided that she wanted to do more to make a difference, so she did her MSc in Social Care and became a Social Worker. The Tomorrow's Doctors scheme is designed to support learners who are in the first year of their studies in our Further Education colleges, and in year 12 in our schools, who speak Welsh and want to apply to study Medicine at university.  The scheme offers specialist support from Cardiff University and Swansea University staff involved in the application process.   With the support of university staff, the following workshops will be organised: March: Introduction, Paned a Chlonc with Menai Evans, Sara Whittam, Sara Vaughan.  April: Work experience with Llinos Roberts  May: Curriculum C21 with Rhian Goodfellow and How to Choose a Course with Cardiff University Medical Students  May: Study through the medium of Welsh and the CCC scholarship with Awen Iorweth and Alun Owens  June: Writing a Personal Statement  July: Alternative Routes to Medicine with Alwena Morgan and [Siwan Iorwerth and Ffraid Gwenllian TBC]  September: Speed Dating with professional doctors!  October: Personal Statement question and answer session  November: Predparing for MMIs  December: Preparing for MMIs   

A series of video clips to educate young people about the various career options available within the health and care sector in Wales. The aim is to increase students interest in the sector and raise awareness of the importance of the Welsh language within this field. The resources were developed by Coleg Cambria. 

These videos highlight the experience of seven people working in important but stressful jobs, who see the benefit of being able to speak to people in Welsh. If you're following a Public Service or Healthcare course, then you'll learn how to deal with the public - especially in an emergency or danger situation. By using both English and Welsh, you give the person in crisis the choice to speak the language they are most comfortable speaking. As a result, you will perform your work to a higher standard. The aim of this app is to support learners and workers in the Public Services sector to use the Welsh language with the public.  The vocabulary used within the app is compatible with the vocabulary that is included within the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Public Services specification. The app intoduces Welsh vocabulary and terms and contains audio clips to help users with pronunciation, along with interactive quizzes to test users' new knowledge.
